We are excited to congratulate Ethan Elias, AHP's Associate Pitching Coordinator and Baseball Academy Co-Head Coach, on being named the Pitching Coach for the Edmonton Riverhawks.
The Riverhawks are the new team in town - and are bringing the best calibre of baseball the city of Edmonton has seen in a long time. They will be playing in the West Coast League, one of the top collegiate baseball summer leagues in North America that boasts teams from Oregon, Washington, British Columbia - and now Alberta. The inaugural franchise is coming to Edmonton thanks to Randy Gregg (the 5-time Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oiler) and his ownership group. They will also be playing out of a newly renovated Remax Field. The Riverhawks have big plans for the stadium, first of which will be new articial turf set to be installed this spring.
A number of AHP athletes have been named to the Riverhawks inaugural roster for this summer: Myles Pallister, Shaun Atamanchuk, Tylor Jans, and Clayton Loranger.
Elias began coaching a few years ago after his professional playing career ended. He is currently the Head Coach of the Edmonton Collegiate Trappers of the Canadian College Baseball Conference, a position he has held since 2017.
We are thrilled for Ethan to have this opportunity to get to coach elite collegiate arms in the summer months and work with a baseball franchise that is endeavouring to grow the game of baseball in the Edmonton area.
